Waiting...

Things have slowed to a crawl concerning the vent. We are waiting for scan of her head to see if something happened when she was so sick. It has something to do with her 02/carbon dioxide levels. I wish I understood. I an waiting to ask more questions if I feel something truly did occur. So here we sit praying that nothing happened.

Praying with you! Knowing that God protects her and that she has beaten the odds before, I trust you will receive good news or that she will prove them wrong.

Love you girls!!!

Cathy, my instincts are that you should obtain a second opinion on this O2/CO2 issue. It never hurts, especially with trisomy kids.

Praying for little Annabel- I miss her sweet smile whenever I went to Mrs. Sandefur's room at Regina! Give all your worries to the Lord! Please give her a hug for me!

Hi, I've worked with SMA1 kids and what happens is that the lungs can't take in as deep breaths as usual because of the inflammation, therefore you have less amount of air to breathe when you exhale. This leads to build-up of CO2 that could lead to brain damage. It happened to both kids I've worked with but thankfully they got no brain damage. I pray for Annabel and hope the Lord will spare her too

Praying for you both! Hope the scan shows good results!

One thing that I would request is a MRI of her brain. When Gavin suffered his stroke, we didn't know for several months because a CT scan doesn't show initial damage, like a MRI can show. Gavin can't have MRI's because he has a pacemaker, which is magnetic, but if Annabel doesn't have anything in her body that interfers with the MRI machine, this scan would show definitive results earlier.

Hang in there Momma! Thinking of you and praying tons! Big Hugs!!!
