Letting them go...so very hard!

As a mother we are taught to protect them and to keep them safe. This is what makes letting him go so hard yesterday. I admire all those that fight for our country and keep us safe. It is just easier when it is not your little boy. Of course, as you can see from the pictures, he is not our little boy any longer. In my heart he will always be my baby boy, because he is! The following pictures are him telling his goodbyes to family members.

Praying Gods protection all around Tyler and praying for your hurting heart my sweet friend. Must have been one of the hardest things to do. Letting go does not come easy. My heart hurts for you and I love you.

This will sound crazy to you, but it was my biggest fear about becoming mom to boys - even though I know so many of our soldiers are our young girls. I am in awe of those who stand in the way of harm to defend us and others. They are true heros.

Tyler will be on our prayer list until he's back home.

OH, and thank you for "outing" me on your blog. :) You know how crazy I am, but you know as well as I do that I need prayer.

I had no idea Annabel was in the hosp again! You know, I had all this time on my hands - least I could have done was pray for her and you! I'm glad you have Kourtni to help. So glad. Please give all your kids, including your newest child, Kourtni, a hug from me. love you, connie

Hi Guys!
Just a word of encouragment as your son leaves to "Save the World"....YOU keep your chin up along with the rest of your family because you guys are his strength and his backbone. He's going to look to you guys most when things get hard. I know first hand that it's a very difficult situation to be in but thankfully we do serve the God of Protection and Peace so when the storm seems like it can't get any rocker, he says Peace, Be Still. My husband returned in August from a 13 mos deployment and will come and go a lot for school/training in the next 8 months but I am so blessed to know, that he knows, that he's in the right hands!

We are "the home of the free because of the brave" just as your handsome, brave son's shirt says.
Please know that prayers from myself and family will be with him until he returns home to you.

Such a bittersweet holiday for you sweet Cathy. Prayers for you and Mel and family are also lifted and praying that you will have way more communication with Tyler than you are expecting!

By the way, we loved the movie, Blind Side which we saw due to your positive review. Thanks for the recommendation! Lots of tears during the show and then I came home and watched the "Hallmark movie" about Christmas, the Dog. Many more tears, a cleansing evening...

By the way, I see that CBN.com has an interview with the football player that Blind Side was based on. Will be checking that out later. Hope you can get a minute to as well.

God bless you and give you His peace!!!

Hey again!

I was never able to access the interview of Michael Oher. My husband saw an interview during a football game on Sunday. Michael was asked what he thought of the movie and he said he liked it very much other than the fact that he did know how to play football when he started attending the school. A great recommendation from the main character himself!

Hope you are having a good day and that you feel the prayers lifted for you and yours!

It is the thing every mother dreads, seeing her son off to war. But Tyler has chosen to walk this path, and I know you will hold your head high and smile,as every parent saying farewell to a child has to do.

Tyler will make you very proud!

Praying for you all, as always.
