Day 5 Post Op...

Ride in her wagon...

Well Annabel partied until 5:15 a.m. this morning. Due to the epidural being removed due to swollen and red at the point of insertion it had to be removed. I think the pain medicine had the opposite effect on her. She also began urinating with the catheter in, so this was removed today. She became tube, wire and line free today. She was also allowed to have baby food for supper today. I am trying not to get my hope up, but I would love to go home tomorrow.

As you can see Annabel went for a walk on the floor today in the wagon. Tara came and brought me breakfast and allowed me to take my shower. So then Annabel got her bath and freshened up. She loved walking or riding should I say in the wagon.

Around lunch a very good friend, Rita, who was our neighbor at our beach house came to visit. We sat and talked and you can see Annabel took to her right away. She works right down the street and she may come back at lunch tomorrow.

Just a good day free to hold Annabel and not worry about pulling anything out. All functions seem to be working well. I would be lying if I were to say I am excited at the prospect of not cathing 5-7 times daily. I do pray this procedure (even though somewhat temporary will work for longer than expected). Also her tummy has been fairly flat for several days now. Longer than I can remember in a good while.
Kathy thank you for the call this evening. It is great when you comment but so good to hear your voice and get to talk with you.

Visiting with mommy's friend, Ms. Rita...

The first thing I said when I saw the 1st photo was, "AWE THERES MY GIRL!" Oh so good to see her beautiful smile again!!! Thanks for putting those up, oh it does the heart good to see that grin! I am so happy that all wires have gone and that her tummy is flat! Oh the little miracles that we mommas of these special kido's get to witness! What a gift! I love you both and will be praying for you to be able to leave today! Come on Lord.... one more please let these sweet ones go home! Love you Cathy!! Give that girl a squeeze for me!

Our Annabel is on the mend, praise the Lord. I love that her baby has the same gown on as she does:) Praying that it is okay to let your hopes soar Cathy, you girls sure have earned it. A "Wireless Annabel" is something to give praise for. Love you.

Love and Hugs, Laurie

Love these pictures! What a happy girl to be zooming around the halls of the hospital but how happy will she be to be home soon! And a very happy Mama too!

Hoping to hear really good news on that front IF it is God's timing.

I loved talking with you Cathy and knowing that Annabel was on your lap while we chatted was frosting on the cake. Or should I say cupcakes? I am still thinking about those incredible cupcakes you posted about that your dear friend brought for you...

Praying for continued improvement for our sweet princess's tummy and bladder issues. Beyond all that we can ask and imagine!

Great work "Team Annabel"!!! Hope to hear you are all going home soon but glad to hear you packed in some great family time while you were all together. Thanks for supporting your mom and sister in such a giving, loving way. "Team Annabel" is awesome!!!

She is so beautiful! She looks really good. I hope you are feeling well, as well as you can without rest.
You will be home soon!

Cathy,
I am sorry I have been such a horrible friend. I didn't even realize all that was going on. It's good to see the sweet pictures and to know she is going home today (talked to Kenzie). I didn't know to be praying for anything other than the normal, but I will be praying for sweet Annabel's continued recovery. Sure wish I could have been "there" for you!
Thanks for all your prayers for us!
With lots of love!
Kim
