Very quick. Went for 2nd opinion today in Houston. We have decided on the dilation at this time for several reasons. I will be making a post tomorrow when I am more rested and Annabel is feeling better. Thank you to all for their prayers on our behalf. I am at peace with this decision and he is going to work with the surgeon doing the bowel surgeon.

Will be praying for sweet Annabell...
After speaking to you yesterday, you, Annabel and Tara were on my mind all day long. Good luck with the dilation.
Sorry to hear that Annabel is not feeling her usual spunky self and that you are tired.
Glad you are comfortable with the decision.
Praying for rest for you, for Annabel to feel better and for all to go amazingly well. God is in the details.
Love you two!!!
Kathy
I am glad that you have come to a decision. I will wait to hear more from you about it!!
I just read your post on my blog and wanted to come back and comment again! I think I get what your dr is saying. If she is still having infection after infection while you cath, that wouldn't change with the mitrofanoff. Cath'ing is cath'ing, as far as infection goes. We have been lucky enough to not have a UTI in 2 years now while cath'ing. Our dr thinks that the low dose erythromiacin she takes for reflux might be helping ward off UTI's.
I don't know if there's any correlation or not, but it makes sense. I sure hope that the dilation works for Annabel and that nothing further is needed. I can see why a vesicostomy would be as good option for her, but constant drainage seems hard on their precious skin.
I hate that we are having to think these things through like this, but SO thankful to have found you to talk to about it all!!
Sorry I confused you, LOL. She takes Erythro for GI reflux. But they think that perhaps it's in her system and it's enough to ward off UTI's. She takes a small dose three times a day, every day.
