Runny Poo and Green Snot!!!

This describes our past week. Before this began Annabel had her mini-one button replaced. The last one was a little too long and therefore stuck out too much. This time around it was much easier and almost no recovery. Annabel's little friend Mallorie (Connie's daughter) also had hers replaced and we took a picture before going into our separate rooms.
Several of you out there in blog land know Laurie from Ca. She has a huge heart for our special babies and is a major prayer warrior for our babies and us mommies! She is a huge source of support with her kind words and inspiration. Today in the mail we received this precious Bundibunny in honor of Annabel and her new button. This cute little bunny is sporting his own G-tube and comes with his little story. Laurie, this is such a sweet gesture and he is the silkiest, softess bunny ever, thank you from Annabel and myself.


This next picture is of Annabel leaving the hospital in the sunshine sporting her cool shades! As any of you know with these Trisomy 18 babies the sunshine is very painful to their eyes. That is one of the greatest things I learned at the SOFT conference in reference to their eyes.
Now for the runny poo and the green snot! No I promise no pictures about this! We will be going to the doctor tomorrow for an antibiotic. My suspicion is that the UTI she had a couple weeks ago didn't totally clear up. Still show many white blood cells and this usually turns into a respiratory infection. Don't think she has anything contagious with her tummy but her intestines I think are just messed up. She want to eat but don't think she is digesting right. Nothing ever makes her stools loose but as of late we are struggling with this. I do believe she had a virus about 10 days ago and her gut just hasn't returned to normal yet.
Annabel's big sisters, Carly and Colette had a soccer tournament this past weekend. The weather cooperated about 1/2 the weekend but Annabel and I spend lots of time in the car with her watching her videos and me watching from the car. They had a great tournament and came in 2nd. Big sissy Carly ended up with a cleat to the mouth (shown in picture)and three jammed fingers due to someones foot kicking the ball as she was stopping it at the goal. She is the goalie for the team! There is also the team picture and they are the two in the middle on the back row. Go Kelly Dawg's for a great weekend of play!

Just lovin' who she is...

Tonight I read a beautiful reminder of how precious our babies truly are! Jessica (Alex' Mom) wrote such a heartfelt post about when he was born she prayed for a cure but that today if one was found would she trade who Alex was for a cure, NO WAY!
It hit home with me as Annabel was full of her smiles, love, out loud laughter and just her awesome goodness. Yes, I love each and everyone of my children for who they are. I thought my life was as blessed as it could be after each one of them and truly thought he was done with blessing me as far as children go. There is just something about these special ones! They can melt you in a moment with no words just how they speak in their silence, smiling through their eyes and with their silky touch. Today at therapy, Annabel shirt said "100% sweet" and her therapist Meg commented that she was probably the only child she knew that could wear this and it be absolutely TRUE! Of course, I beamed because she is just so sweet and she was working so hard at each thing Meg had her doing. At other times Meg had said that Annabel is a good end to her day because of how much love Annabel gives to her and just how joyful she is. This is true, at work, play, sickness or whatever, this baby girl is God's absolute perfection. Thank you, Jessica for reminding us today how LUCKY and BLESSED we are to be their mothers!

R & R...

This last week has been very relaxing! Tomorrow we will be returning to school and I can't wait to see Annabel's face as she enters her classroom. It warms my heart so much to know that she is so happy when I am away from her. We did enjoy this past week sleeping until whenever, staying in our P.J.'s if we wanted and just playing. No routines, schedules just plain hangin out! I think it is good for her little body to have some downtime. She will also begin her therapy tomorrow and I am anxious to see what she remembers. She did have a tummy bug the past couple of days, but hopefully she is on the mend. This week she should have her G-button replaced. The one(called mini-one) that was just placed a couple weeks ago is a little too long. It doesn't fit in her tummy like it should so he is going to put in one that is a bit shorter. The button is new to our area and he didn't think it came in any other length than what he gave her, but thank you to Connie, she researched and found a length in between what she had and what is now in her tummy. Also, this time he will sedate her so maybe mommy won't be such a wimp!
