On The Mend...

Annabel is on the mend. Everyones thoughts and prayers are so appreciated! THANK YOU! Each day she has had improvement. Each day I am grateful and so thankful! Her sleep patterns are getting better, she is eating more and we are using less medicine. The best news is we have many, many more smiles. I do know that the people who read the blog and have experienced Trisomy 18 will understand that just a simple cold can become so much more with these babies. Others who may not have encountered the special needs children that are so fragile may not understand why we ask for prayers for something that seems so simple, like a cold that everyone gets.
Ok, from the last post there was a comment that wanted to know why Annabel was darker than the rest of the family. I will answer that here, but if anyone else wants to ask more personal questions, I would prefer you to email me. The address is on the side bar of the blog. I do appreciate your openness and curiosity.
Some babies are born UNDER their mother's heart, and some babies are born IN their mother's heart. Annabel was born IN my heart and I thank God everyday for His most precious gift of total perfection!

Update...

Annabel's cough is better but the mucous is still hanging in there. We do have a suction machine but it is at a point that I can't reach. The nurse came Wednesday evening and said she listen to her lungs and she doesn't feel it is in her lungs. Like most times it is just upper airway. The last couple evenings she seems to have much gas and become distended. She want to eat and does, but then becomes uncomfortable. Last night was her best night this week and I am very thankful. Hopefully this will run its course and she will be her smiley self by next week. Thank you to everyone who has called or commented for their encouragement and prayers.

No pictures, no smiles...

Oh well I need to be grateful of the well times. She can get sick very quickly. While at church Sunday evening we noticed her coughing and she had not been prior to this. I just assumed maybe someones perfume was bothering her. Wrong! She fell asleep about 9p.m. then woke up around 10:30p.m. and never went back to sleep until about 6:15 a.m. Precious baby was so miserable and was just choking on her mucos. She doesn't move this very well, it just sits. She slept a few hours in the a.m. then a little more in the afternoon. The tube feedings came in handy and I was able to get her feedings in. Again last night she fell asleep around 9 and by 11 p.m. she was awake and so uncomfortable. The only position was up and on my chest. Needless to say I am tired! Today it looks like the mucos is breaking up and I am hoping for a much better night tonight. Let me not end this without thanking God that we do not have a urinary to go along with this. Usually they go hand in hand and I am thanking God that this is just a summer cold. Hopefully soon she will be back to her smiley little self and sleeping better. Of course, then mom can quit whinning.
